Malaise speaks...

When the whole of India was basking in the victory of new formed government and chanting 'acche din aa gae hai' (happy days have come). There came news from two different parts of the country which sent shivers down the spine and made me doubt whether happy days have actually come for children and women???
First news was from Maharashtra, where a gruesome act was brought into light by a kid. The shelter home's owner and his lady assistant made the children aged 5-15 watch the pornographic films, perform the acts and if they refused were forced to eat the excreta. When I heard this news ,I was  shocked. Suddenly I found my mind was flooded with angry thoughts. Are these people out of their minds??? Why are these innocent children shown the inhuman face of the humans??? This was such a disturbing incident.
Today this person's heinous crime is exposed to the world. But there are more such monsters roaming in our society wearing the mask of a responsible citizen. It is a real shame for us who call ourselves literate and responsible.
The Indian judiciary has made so many laws to prevent such acts, but its execution is hardly done, the accussed finds some or other loopholes to escape the punishment and then we say that 'Iss desh ka kuch nahi hone wala'(this country cannot change) ,we are the one to ignore the primary stages of the situation and then when the jet is out of its runway we stand first to blame the authorities. If this is our state of mind, how can we go beyond 'iss desh ka kuch nai hone wala' and moreover when a person is trying to change it, people either pull him down or disown him from the society. We will have to grow up from the old prejudices and speak out if we want the future to be safe, secure and harmonious.
And another no different news was from Uttar Pradesh where 2 minor girls were cold bloodedly raped and murdered. Instead of investigating and taking accused into the custody our politicians are more interested in the blame game. It was brought into notice by the vernacular media and this incidence has also built some pressure on the government (as usual) but in spite of establishing the fast track courts for these atrocities on women ,there are no fast track trails and hearings of these cases. Moreover lack of execution of capital punishment have made the chauvinist male more fearless.
Being a girl I feel, even if we are getting more modern and moving towards globalization we still have that strata in our society (which also includes few politicians) who say , 'ladke hai kabhi kabhi galti ho jati hai '(sometimes such mistakes occur as the boys are young). This is an irksome statement ,if the boys can't control their feelings , why should I being a girl live with constant fear??? The motive of the news about the rapes is actually to make people vigilant about the crime but on the contrary it acts as a stimulant in provoking the devil's minds.

It's high time now, when we've seen Nirbhaya, the Mumbai case and many other, let's bring the these degraded minds and turn them into the productive one's for the society. With this we will also need the callous system and the people like you and me to act responsibly and think at least once before ignoring, because this time it was them ,next turn can be mine or of a daughter, a sister,a friend, of a MAN.....
